LUCENA CITY — A young boy and a woman drowned in separate incidents in Quezon province on Tuesday (Oct. 22) as Tropical Storm “Kristine” dumped heavy rains over most parts of Luzon, police reported.
According to Quezon police, 1-year-and-8-month-old “Matheo” was sleeping beside his mother in their home in San Andres town around 11:45 a.m. when the boy got up, wandered outside, and accidentally fell into an open canal, where he was carried away by rushing water.
Article continues after this advertisementRelatives found him in a nearby creek and rushed him to the municipal clinic, but he was declared dead from drowning.
